Carl McGuire

Carl started playing guitar (late 1989), then bass, keyboards and programming a drum machine in the early 1990's. He got with some friends (Todd West who was primarily the vocalist, and Charles Boettger who primarily played keyboards) in the Omaha metro area and formed the first known local industrial band, Haunted Reason. They started recording right away, using a home stereo system and a bass amp (have to be careful doing it that way!!). Later, Carl bought a home studio system and was even able to master to digital (this was back in the early 1990's, so digital was unheard of at that time) and released 3 cassettes (Still Born, Dead Resurrect, and Uncontrolled Experiment). They played many shows, but people in the area weren't ready for the theatrical live show, and the harsh style of music that was being produced. HR broke up a few times over the years, and changed some of its members. The last incarnation, bass player David Vosburgh joined, and Charles and Carl took over the roles of vocals while continuing to play multiple instruments in the studio and live. HR released a CD (Anti-Matter). Carl is in the process of making a final CD for the Haunted Reason experiment, but it's very time consuming trying to dig up the later works... but, he does hope to release it soon; and may release some of the earlier works on CD as well.

Carl also played bass in a couple of death metal bands in the mid 1990's (Xenomorph, and Sandskin), but the style of music wasn't for him. Though, for the most part, he did enjoy playing the shows and working with other great musicians.

A couple of years after the last Haunted Reason break-up, Carl started the solo project, Awful Logic. WHAT'S WITH THE NAME? you may ask... He wanted a name similar to Haunted Reason, but something more like "bad thoughts," than the "spooky thoughts" that led to that name. Carl wanted to share his horrible life experiences; using the music like his personal therapy. He proclaims that every song has a true story behind it. But, as an artist, he didn't want to tell the public exactly what the stories are - hoping to leave it for the listener to decide what it might mean to them...

He quickly put out the first 2 albums (Blackhole, and Blood Soaked) and a few EPs. Then, he recruited Wulfgang...
